Milacron is looking for a Service Business Manager to join our team in Batavia, OH. As a Service Business Manager you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and managing the Service-focused business relationship with all of Milacron’s customers. Core responsibilities include planning, directing, and coordinating the most efficient and cost-effective resolution of customer’s service requests, and supporting the Aftermarket Field Sales team with proactively selling inspections, preventative maintenance, long-term service contracts, and digital solutions to grow Milacron’s Service revenue with new & existing customers.

What you’ll do:

  • Take ownership of financial and key performances indicators pertaining to Aftermarket Service
  • Responsible for margin and revenue performance of the Aftermarket P&L
  • Manages experienced professionals (North America Aftermarket Service Field Technicians & Independent Service Providers) whose duties focus on analysis, repair & service of Milacron machines in the field.
  • Exercises full management authority, including performance reviews, pay decisions, recruitment, discipline, termination & other personnel actions, planning/scheduling, completing/approving all work order documentation via Salesforce (SFDC)
  • Manage and schedule all 3rd party service providers to facilitate new machine startups, retrofits, and other Service-related events that require rigging and/or trucking support
  • Establish pricing and associated commercial policies/quotes with the support of Field Sales
  • Create and manage Service business forecasting & budgets to achieve our Aftermarket Breakthrough Objectives
  • Champion Milacron’s digital service offerings by partnering with Field Sales and other cross functional teams to increase the adoption on new machines & those already in the field
  • Participate with sourcing employees to remain cost competitive with high quality components
  • Develop customer-specific Service strategies in collaboration with the Aftermarket Field Sales team
  • Participate and manage the service-facing aspect of all customer relationships by fielding/responding to phone calls, text messages, and emails during and outside of Milacron’s standard working hours
  • Partner with Customer Service & Field Sales to track open Aftermarket orders and shipments
  • Maintain significant industry relationships with complementary suppliers, industry associations
  • Support with new product development programs
  • Partner with the Aftermarket training team to develop & enhance internal as well as external/customer training programs. Also be capable of providing such training, with the ability to “train the trainer”
  • Extensive travel to customer site, supplier facilities, and other business-related locations
  • Other service-related activities as requested by Milacron’s senior leadership team

Qualifications - External

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and applicable experience required
  • 5 years of customer-facing Field Service/Contract Maintenance experience, or Field Sales in a highly technical industry supporting capital equipment
  • 3 years of proven background in employee management within highly technical industries supporting capital equipment maintenance and sales
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Windows operating systems, MS Office, Salesforce (SFDC), and PowerBI tools
  • Extensive technical knowledge with capital or heavy equipment, plastics and/or plastics machine experience is a plus
  • Proven track record of managing employees completing technical-focused work in a remote setting, as well as the ability to leverage digital tools to increase efficiency
  • Ability to work in multiple projects in a specialty product environment
  • Proficient at reading Mechanical / CAD drawings
  • Basic plastics processing knowledge is preferred, however not required if offset by other industrial experience
  • Strong negotiating and commercial/customer-facing skills
