The Nevada Community Action Association (NCAA), the statewide association for Nevada’s 12 Community Action Agencies, is seeking a new Executive Director. Community Action Partnership of NCAA leads, strengthens and supports the state’s Community Action network in order to build thriving communities and end poverty. We are the statewide association for twelve Community Action Agencies, members of a nationwide network established over 50 years ago as a part of President Lyndon Johnson’s War on Poverty. Our member agencies help low-income families and individuals become self-sufficient. Successful candidates must display a familiarity and commitment for the work of the Community Action Network in the War on Poverty and a working knowledge of the programs offered to the low-income populations served. The ability to advocate for vulnerable populations at the local, State and Federal levels is one of the key functions of this position. Interested candidates should have an understanding of low-income population needs, including family and community development, housing development, energy assistance, and education initiatives. The new Executive Director must demonstrate sound business and leadership practices, preferably management experience within Community Action. S/he will need strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to provide support to the Board of Directors. Demonstrated relationship building and organizational skills in a regional or state-wide trade association or grant-funded organization, as well as visionary and innovative will be expected of the person leading NCAA. A Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in administrative, programmatic and professional leadership responsibilities are required. Salary range for this position is $75K to $85K commensurate with experience and education. This can be a contractual or salaried position as benefits will be negotiable.
