SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES


The IT Support Specialist will plan, install, upgrade, monitor, and maintain both back-end and desktop/user equipment for the company. Be the forward face of IT support with the staff. Be proficient, have certifications and willing to improve knowledge in the following areas of Technology:


  • TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and NTFS Permissions

  • Microsoft System Center (SCCM)

  • Microsoft Windows Servers

  • Windows 10 Enterprise

  • Microsoft Exchange Online Administration

  • Microsoft Office 365 Administration

  • Cisco Equipment Administration (routing and switching commands, port configuration)

  • Cisco Call Manager Administration; VOIP

  • Wireless Networking

  • VPN

  • Active Directory, File & Print Servers

  • SharePoint

  • Spiceworks

  • Microsoft, Cisco or other industry recognized certifications required.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Performs all PC and helpdesk related activities

  • Escalates more complex and urgent support issues to IT Network Administrator

  • Assists IT Network Administrator with infrastructure related projects

  • Deploy and maintain workstations and virtual servers

  • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems

  • Ensure network connectivity throughout the organization's LAN and VPN

  • Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work

  • Techniques for explaining technical concepts and procedures to non-technical users

  • Assign new user accounts and email addresses in Active Directory

  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment

  • Communicating effectively with co-workers; excellent customer focus

  • Willingness to utilize immediately available tools to resolve issues

  • An unbiased approach to hardware platforms, operating systems, and tools

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

  • Willing and able to be on-call nights and weekends

  • Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in computer sciences, business administration or equivalent experience

  • More than Three (3) years of IT experience

  • Prefer certification in consistent technologies that are involved in job responsibilities: Microsoft, and CompTIA: A , Network , Security

  • Working knowledge of and comfort working with:

  • Windows server environment

  • Microsoft 365

    • System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)

    • Apple IOS

    • Apple and Android Mobile devices

  • Knowledge of both self-managed and cloud-based technology solutions.

  • Able to interpret, analyze and learn new technologies.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • A motivated self-starter who also works well in a larger team with the ability to work and think independently

  • Possess time management skills for planning and exercising conscious control of time spent on specific activities, especially to increase effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity

  • In-depth understanding of policies, change management, and best practices

  • Demonstrate professionalism commensurate with a service-center role
