Title: PHP/LAMP Developer

Duration: Long Term Assignment
Description:
1. PROJECT DETAILS
1.1. creates and supports hundreds of websites and application for Members, Committees and Leadership (MCL) offices. In addition, Web Systems develops, maintains and manages applications where other legacy technologies exist. These applications facilitate web operations as well as provide added functionality with maintenance support provided to the MCL Offices.
1.2. The House is seeking a Senior Web Architect contractor for to help maintain and develop applications on PHP Lamp stack. The ideal candidate shall have 5-8 years of PHP Development experience.
2. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE
2.1. Base period of twelve months not-to-exceed 1440 hours with 2 3-month option periods (NTE 480 hours/option).
2.1.1. The role will be 40 hours per week for the first three to four months and then shift to part-time.
3. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
3.1. Design web interfaces to be responsive and intuitive for the end-user using HTML5/CSS,
3.2. Work effectively and collaboratively with House colleagues on assigned projects and activities,
3.3. Maintain professional relationships with customers, management, colleagues and deliver high-quality customer service,
3.4. Engage and manage each build as a small project from initial requirements gathering, through iterations, to final publish, and
3.5. Maintain necessary tracking, reporting and documentation including but not limited to Client pages, receipts of signed approvals, project issues/tasks/tickets, incidents and service requests.
4. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
4.1. Strong skills in PHP, MySQL and HTML/Javascript/CSS web design,
4.2. Strong technical knowledge of current LAMP based software, hardware, protocols, standards, and best practices,
4.3. Strong knowledge on Unix / Linux & SVN / GIT,
4.4. Knowledge of web development tools and web browser compatibilities and capabilities,
4.5. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically distilling webpage content to PDFs, and
4.6. Collaborate with project managers and other team members to design and estimate timeline for custom Drupal-based solutions.
5. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
5.1. This is a high visibility position demanding reliable, timely delivery of high caliber service and work product,
5.2. Excellent communication skills required. Must be able to maintain poise and professionalism with clients of varying roles and technological skill levels,
5.3. Well-rounded knowledge of web technologies and tools; usage of social media, content management systems and computer systems,
5.4. Ability to self-organize and work collaboratively with team members. Adaptation to multiple tasks and shifting work objectives, and
5.5. Candidates must have the following:
5.5.1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related Field,
5.5.2. Excellent communication skills (oral and written),
5.5.3. Strong HTML/CSS/JS skills,
5.5.4. Working knowledge of Git, and
5.5.5. Proficiency in Linux administration
6. SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS
6.1. Minimum 5 years of experience with PHP
6.2. Extensive experience building custom web interfaces from specification
6.3. Knowledge and experience with Test-Driven development methodologies
6.4. Expert Level SQL Knowledge
