Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an immediate opening for Associate Embedded Software Engineer or Embedded Software Engineers. The selected candidate for this position will report to the Northrop Grumman Precision Targeting and Protection facility in Apopka, FL.

This new team member will demonstrate a broad skill set that is balanced between interpersonal and technical capabilities. He/she will have an ability to operate in a team environment and collaborate across the sector business areas as required to accomplish the team goals.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Develop, document, and maintain embedded software both individually and as part of a larger team
  • Support team in integrating various sensors into a larger platform
  • Assist in the creation of hardware integration and test setups
  • Solve complex problems through innovative and creative solutions.
  • Collaborate effectively in a team environment across business areas to accomplish team and program goals
  • Facilitate and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Basic Qualifications For Associate Embedded Software Engineer
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM degree by start date and a minimum of 1 year of related experience.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: C, C++, C#, Object Oriented programming
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Security clearance (Secret)
Basic Qualifications for an Embedded Software Engineer:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM degree and a minimum of 2 years related experience or MS Degree in STEM degree field by start date.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: C, C++, C#, Object Oriented programming
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Security clearance (Secret)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the development of embedded systems (RTOS, device drivers, etc.)
  • Experience with software/hardware integration
  • Experience developing Android applications for embedded systems (Android SDK, Android Studio)
  • Experience with software development Integrated Development Environment (IDE) tools such as Visual Studio, Eclipse, and/or Code Composer Studio
  • Experience with hardware interfaces such as: 1553, Ethernet, Serial and/or PCI-E
  • Experience with version control, issue tracking and collaboration tools such as ClearCase/ClearQuest, Git, Github, and/or Jira.
  • Experience with software development for testability, manufacturability, and maintainability
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Experience with Linux OS
  • Proven communication and presentation skills
  • Active Security clearance at the Secret level
Salary Range: $58,800 USD - $88,200 USD

Salary Range 2: $71,100 USD - $106,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
