Primary Function
The Director of Donor Engagement is a seasoned fundraising professional with strong experience managing the systems, processes and people responsible for creating a rewarding and successful donor experience. The role serves as the day-to-day manager of OKCNP's stewardship program. They are responsible for donor engagement and are accountable for planning and securing gift commitments from an assigned portfolio of donors. Additionally, the Director of Donor Engagement manages OKCNP's Business Associate program.
Essential Functions
STEWARDSHIP MANAGEMENT
Develop and implement the Resource Development stewardship operations with a focus on retention, acquisition, and communication with annual donors;
Execution of annual fundraising cultivation plans, engagement strategies and reporting of key metrics with the Resource Development team and other OKCNP staff;
Responsible for securing gifts and revenue growth through an assigned portfolio of donors;
Develop and maintain policies and procedures for resource development and donor services that are donor- centric and promote ease of access to data;
Increase operational efficiency to elevate the level of service to donors by development staff;
Responsible for the Donor Recognition program, to include, but not limited to, various donor receptions, friend-raising events, and the Chairman's Circle Benefit program.
BUSINESS ASSOCIATES
Identify, develop, and secure Business Associate partnerships with businesses and corporations whose services impact nonprofit organization operations;
Manage monthly recruitment and retention goals as part of the Campaign for Excellence annual budget;
Responsible for the execution of Business Associate benefits and the Business Associates Directory;
Coordinate Business Associate marketing opportunities to nonprofit members, and manage Affinity Partner royalty and/or discounted service programs;
Support Programs staff by obtaining sponsorships for the annual Member's Meeting and Nonprofit Law and Finance Conference.
VISIONS RECOGNITION LEAD
Coordinate the nomination and selection of Visions award honorees through management of the Visions Selection Commissioners;
Coordinate the recognition videos of Visions honorees in partnership with the honorees and the OKCNP videographer;
Support the Visions event committee as needed.
ADMINISTRATION AND OTHER DUTIES
Generate reports for staff and the board of directors as requested;
Provide guidance and expertise to nonprofits through helplines, informal consultation, training and consulting projects, community events and other channels as needed;
Provide assistance with cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of all donors (thank-you letters, appointment setting, mailers, preparation of materials, reports, etc.) in cooperation with the Vice President of Resource Development and the President and CEO.
Provide general administrative functions such as expense reporting, budget oversight, consultation with team members, attendance at scheduled meetings and acting as a liaison to various committees and the board of directors;
Maintain professionalism, organizational standards and confidentiality as a representative of OKCNP to all donors, members, and other key stakeholders;
Recruit and retain volunteers, donors, interns, and other partners as necessary;
Represent OKCNP's values in working with clients and colleagues.
Other Functions
Other duties may be assigned by Vice President of Resource Development;
Ability to travel throughout the state and outside of Oklahoma as needed;
Engage in professional development activities such as training, conferences, research and coaching;
Participate in OKCNP's special events, including ONE and Visions, and board meetings as requested;
Maintain the strictest of confidentiality at all times.
Education and Expertise
A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. In lieu of a degree, job experience will be accepted with approval of the President and CEO;
Exemplary knowledge of technology (Microsoft Office Suite, Donor Database Technology, Adobe Creative Suite a plus);
Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, presentation);
Relationship management and professionalism.
Experience
Possess a minimum of three years of work experience in grant writing, research, fundraising, communications or administration.
