ESL Instructor for Adults

We are an established adult ESL school in Waikiki accepting applicants for in-person teaching positions to start immediately. We have a casual, fun and friendly atmosphere, with a diverse group of students and staff from all over the world. We pride ourselves on our spirit of Aloha and highly engaging communication-based approach. Applicants must be available Tuesday-Friday mornings from 8:30 to 12:30. Monday and afternoon availability is also a plus. Facility with all levels beginner and up is necessary, but experience and confidence with advanced levels and both basic and complex grammar is especially preferred. Experience with the Cambridge English exams (FCE and/or CAE) is a further advantage. Teachers work on a competitive pay scale based on qualifications and previous experience. This position starts at 16 to 20 hours per week, with the possibility of expanding to up to between 28 and 35 hours depending on afternoon and Monday class demand; plus opportunities to supplement income with exciting paid activities. All employees working 20 hours or more per week are eligible for healthcare and dental. Employees are eligible for 401(k) after one full year and 1,000 hours of work. Applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:
Master’s degree in TEFL or related field
Bachelor’s degree in TESOL or related field and 3 months teaching experience
Bachelor’s degree and CELTA certificate and 3 months teaching experience
Bachelor’s degree and TEFL certificate and 6 months teaching experience
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years or more experience teaching English to adults in a classroom setting and TEFL certificate within three months of hire

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
