Finance & Accounting - Finance & AccountingThe C&O Planning & Analysis group resides within the Corporate and Other Finance group and is responsible for oversight of the financial P&A process within the Corporate & Other operating segment (excluding Long-Term Care) including oversight of related controls and the reporting, analysis and review that supports the process. The group, which reports directly into the Company Controller and the Company Chief Financial officer, seeks a self-motivated and proactive Associate Manager with experience preparing clear and concise materials for business partners and exposure to the AOI and GAAP reporting and analysis process. This is a visible role within Prudential’s Finance organization and the candidate will have significant exposure to key management across the finance department (e.g., Treasurers, CIO, Corporate Controllers). This position will report to the Manager within the C&O Planning & Analysis group.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist in the planning process for the C&O operating segment, including AOI, balance sheet, cash flows reporting and analysis.
- Initiate and drive enhancements to current processes and procedures
- Development and oversight of junior staff member
- Prepare quarterly and annual deliverables, for both Forecasts and Closes, showing a well-documented analysis of the underlying drivers, including the corporate attributes and underlying details
- Assist in the coordination the group’s administrative tasks and set timelines for financial reporting and related functions in accordance with the Company calendar.
- Assist with forecast and actual results and collaborate with our key partners in the corporate centers, and effectively challenge results and related analysis
- Assist in other Profit & Loss deliverables during the Close and Forecast periods
- Compile/prepare Ad hoc research, analysis and reports as requested
Required qualifications/skill sets:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance is required (CPA, CFA or MBA is a plus)
- 5+ years of accounting, financial reporting and analysis experience
- Fully capable of managing multiple priorities independently, keeping C&O Finance management appraised on a regular basis or as required
- Prior experience with forecasting processes preferred.
- Capable of leading discussions and interacting with business partners (Controller, Treasurers, etc.)
- Ability to work through issues independently and as part of a team
- Ability to drive and influence key decisions independently
- Ability to produce clear, concise and insightful analysis
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
