Title: Mechanical Engineer Technician

Location – West Sacramento, CA

Contract - 12 Months

Description:




  • Summary: Modify, test and repair machinery and equipment under direction of engineering staff or physical scientists. Typically has a degree in engineering technology and experience with engineering computer applications. Helps engineers design, test, and manufacture industrial machinery, consumer products and other equipment. Possesses technical skills, including the ability to apply and make engineering drawings and has experience using computer applications related to the engineering field.

  • Education/Experience Associate degree in engineering technology or related field required o 5-7 years’ experience required

  • Responsibility level Exercises independent judgment with direction from supervisor Skill so Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability

  • Previous experience with computer applications and design software related to engineering field Typically required Major Job Duties and Responsibilities’ Prepare parts sketches and write work orders and purchase requests to be furnished by outside contractors

  • Draft detail drawing or sketch for drafting room completion or to request parts fabrication by machine, sheet or wood shops o Review project instructions and blueprints to ascertain test specifications, procedures, and objectives, and test nature of technical problems such as redesign

  • Review project instructions and specifications to identify, modify and plan requirements fabrication, assembly and testing

  • Discuss changes in design, method of manufacture and assembly, and drafting techniques and procedures with staff and coordinate corrections o Inspect lines and figures for clarity and return erroneous drawings to designer for correction

  • Evaluate tool drawing designs by measuring drawing dimensions and comparing with original specifications for form and function using engineering skills Set up and conduct tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to investigate proposals for improving equipment performance

  • Analyze test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives and modify or adjust equipment to meet specifications

  • Top 3 Skills you are looking for: Automotive Background Troubleshooting Flexibility Additional Manager Notes This candidate will need to have a commercial automotive background.

  • The candidate will need to have automotive technician experience with harness building and schematics. This candidate should also have connector and diagnosis experience. Trouble shooting and basic can experience is a necessity. High Voltage/Hydrogen experience is a plus. Day to day: This candidate will be working an M-F 8am-5pm flexible shift. The candidate will also be working on class 8 or 7 trucks. This candidate will be following test plans and trouble shooting. Someone who has a CDL is a bonus. This candidate will be working with electric vehicles
