Automation Personnel Services is now hiring for a Safety Manager for our corporate office in Birmingham, AL.
The primary duties of the Safety Manager are to protect the employees, company, and clients by preventing and eliminating injury to employees and assuring the Company and our clients comply with federal, state and local safety regulations. This position works in corporate office communicating and providing excellent and accurate service daily with clients, associates, and staff. Responsibilities include safety audits, training of branch personnel, client resources, and problem solving in a fast-paced business environment. Professional communication and decision making. The position also requires:
Maintain a high level of safety vigilance by collecting information, auditing, and recommending solutions
Advise leadership on asset allocations for safety
Lead efforts in Best-in-Class Safety, including NSC/ASA Safety Award of Excellence
Audit and analyze incidents and injuries to assist with corrective actions
Prepare accurate reports and summary data, as requested
Resolve discrepancies by investigating and analyzing information
Develop and maintain policies and procedures; report needed changes
Solve branch and client issues by being a subject matter expert on safety
Project confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
Contribute to the team s success by providing information with both speed and accuracy
Coach clients and staff OSHA regulations and other safety matters
Complete special projects, as assigned, to further superior safety
Update/Create required training, handbooks and internal reference materials.
Perform other tasks as required by Automation and the Director of Risk Management
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
4year degree. Safety certifications such as CSP, OSHA 10 and 30 training, and HAZMAT. Excellent communication and computer skills. The ability to utilize online tools to assist in maintaining goals. Must be competent in word, excel and other computer programs as needed. Must have ability to complete tasks on time, and to communicate with associates, clients and insurers articulately and confidently. Must demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize daily tasks. Understand and be able to coach on workers compensation, OSHA and other safety matters.
