Position: Environmental Services Technician
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Environmental Services Technician performs all general house-cleaning duties in all areas of the Weber Center per guidelines and standards. Demonstrates proper use and care of all environmental services equipment. Maintains a safe environment. Environmental Services Technician will be primarily responsible to maintain all facilities in a neat, clean, safe, and sanitary environment by disinfecting. mopping, vacuuming, dusting and wiping surfaces, fixtures, and furnishings, while providing a service that focuses on the needs of the customers and maintains productive working relationships.
Reports to: Weber Center Interim Co-Directors
Hours: Part time - 26 Hours Per Week - Nonexempt. Variable hours depending on work load, with a maximum of 26 hours per week, will require nights, weekends, and holidays.
Hourly Wage: $18 P/H
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs all general cleaning of areas assigned. Prioritizes personal assignments and responds in a timely manner to requests for housekeeping service.
- Surveys assigned areas to ensure proper sanitary conditions, comfort, cleanliness and safety of the environment. Reports items and/or areas in need of cleaning, painting or repair to management.
- Removes noticeable debris from floors, elevators, etc. in any area of the facility.
- Knows and practices appropriate procedures for cleaning, equipment use and care and hazards.
Mixes cleaning solutions in correct dilutions and functions within the limitations or hazards of each product.
- Maintains housekeeping supplies in all areas to include toweling, soap, paper supplies, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITY
- Preference for graduation from an accredited high school, or GED.
- Preference for individuals with prior experience performing facility cleaning work.
- May consider other equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Must have good work record, and must successfully complete background check.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear.
The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is expected to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position.
