The Senior Marketing Communications Manager role, aligned to our Mission Systems strategic business unit (SBU), is a key leader on the Collins Aerospace global communications team. The role’s principal focus is to lead the marketing communications strategy supporting the Mission Systems business, align the business’ strategic initiatives to its comprehensive integrated communications strategy, and support the SBU’s business development team to collectively deliver on the goals of the strategy and help grow the business.



Reporting to the Associate Director of Integrated Communications supporting the Mission Systems business, the Senior Marketing Communications Manager will proactively drive data-driven marketing communications strategy and innovative work through a matrixed, cross-functional team and in a global environment. The role is also responsible for managing the strategic planning, development and implementation of go-to-market and customer-facing communications to help achieve business objectives. In addition to leading cross-portfolio campaigns highlighting the unique capabilities of the SBU to the marketplace, driving awareness and engagement the position is also responsible for active collaboration and alignment of marque campaigns spanning Raytheon.

Primary Responsibilities



  • Proactively and positively team with executive leaders to lead and execute an advanced and future-focused marketing communications strategy focused taking broad-based capabilities and storylines that span the entire portfolio to the next level of marketing maturity.

  • Develop, execute and manage a comprehensive, strategic marketing communications program, including end-to-end integrated communications campaigns, aligned to the Collins and Mission Systems SBU vision, mission and goals and in close coordination with internal communications, external communications and SBU product marketing strategies.

  • The strategic marketing program will support competitive growth goals, competitive brand positioning, and clear value propositions with flawless execution delivering measurable results.

  • Be the expert and primary liaison to corporate marketing and communications on core business messaging and campaigns to ensure coordination and connections to further the SBU’s and Collins’ brands.

  • Bring highly creative insights, ideas and strategies to bear while working in-the-trenches to effectively monitor and manage plans, processes and people for successful and timely execution. Lead the strategic sourcing of and manage content for marketing collateral, trade shows support, website/blog/social media, and other initiatives.

  • In collaboration with the company’s Marketing Center of Excellence team, champion a marketing transformation, challenging the default traditional marketing mindset and advancing strategic, data-driven digital marketing outputs.

  • Develop and report on a marketing and communications metrics measurement dashboard with identified benchmarks for success.

  • Actively learn and apply industry-leading best practices in branding, marketing, social marketing/communications, go-to-market communications, including championing and contributing to the team’s integrated communications playbook.

  • Partner on an external communications program with the portfolio’s assigned external media lead - to proactively mine opportunities for executive/product amplification and placement, proactive and valuable media coverage and when necessary, traditional press releases.

  • Create timely, relevant and dynamic written communications and presentations.


Basic Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field and 10+ years of prior relevant experience; OR

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience; OR

  • In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required.

  • Must be willing to travel 15-25%.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, stakeholders and priorities and act with a sense of urgency

  • Knowledge of marketing communications channels, strategies and best practices, including landing page optimization, remarketing, content marketing methodologies and account-based marketing strategies.

  • Analytical skills, including the ability to understand and interpret marketing

  • Prior communications experience in a corporate, international environment with a strong manufacturing or technical background is a plus

  • Prior experience in marketing analytics, including the ability to understand and interpret marketing and communications data to inform strategy and action

  • Experience with preparing and presenting materials on behalf of executives

  • Prior experience using web-based publishing and distribution tools

The salary range for this role is 112,000 USD - 236,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
