JOB BRIEF
Safety Services company is seeking an experienced, conscientious Payroll & Benefits Administrator to provide meaningful contribution to our finance team. The ideal candidate will be motivated, team-oriented and experienced in payroll and benefits administration, and will be responsible for compiling, analyzing, and processing biweekly payroll information in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process biweekly payroll utilizing ADP Workforce Now (WFN), verifying time records and deductions, ensuring payroll data is complete and accurate, researching and resolving issues and questions in a timely manner
- Review, validate and input employee changes to withholdings and deductions
- Calculate termination payments ensuring all hours, earnings and deductions are captured
- Process garnishments in timely manner, ensuring requirements are met and employees are notified
- Prepare, reconcile, and transmit biweekly 401K and FSA reporting
- Review and maintain vacation and sick accrual balances, researching and correcting discrepancies
- Prepare payroll journal entries and upload into Great Plains, providing variance explanations
- Calculate and prepare manual checks as required
- Maintain validation tables, codes, security access, and reports within the ADP application
- Create ad hoc payroll reports as requested
- Provide guidance and ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulatory requirements
- Maintain confidentiality of all payroll and other sensitive materials
- Ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments, providing vendors with accurate eligibility information
- Reconcile monthly carrier benefit invoices to benefit census data, communicating and resolving discrepancies
- Perform quality checks of benefits-related data
- Respond to benefit inquiries, assisting employees regarding benefit claim issues, plan changes, status changes and other general inquiries
- Review quarterly and year-end tax reports including W2 verification and reconciliation
- Respond to payroll related request for information from outside entities
- Assist with various audits including, but not limited to, workers compensation, 401K and annual financial statement audits
- Assist with indirect tax preparation and reconciliation
- Prepare and analyze annual ACA and EEOC reporting
- Serve as backup for other positions within the Finance Department
- Other duties as assigned by management
EXPERIENCE
- 3-5 years of previous payroll experience with ADP, preferably WFN
- High School diploma required, Associates or bachelor’s degree a plus
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state labor laws and tax regulations
- Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be detailed oriented, organized, and accurate
- Ability to manage time efficiently, multitask, meet deadlines and work in a team environment
- Proven capabilities managing processes in a dynamic and changing environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer software applications
- Strong work ethic and ability to be flexible with hours to meet deadlines
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
