We are located in Torrance, California, are an Equal Opportunity Employer and seek an experienced Warehouse Manager for immediate hire. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company and industry leader which distributes globally.
Summary:
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, distribution center (shipping department), including transportation requirements and will also be responsible for maintaining the safety, security, sanitation and cleanliness of the warehouse, docks and all related equipment. Warehouse Manager is responsible for the organizational layout, receiving activities for raw materials delivered to the warehouse and the distribution center, and the return to inventory process to ensure inventory accuracy. He/she will manage a team of direct reports to coordinate the movement of finished goods through the warehouse, rotating the finished goods inventory, and picking/packing/shipping the finished goods in compliance with company and customer requirements. The incumbent must have worked in a manufacturing environment, not logistics.
Responsibilities:
Ensure that the warehouse operates at peak efficiency.
Understands the importance of Quality Control, KPI's, SOPs, ERPs - MRP, department targets, and looks to Implement improvement actions to drive results.
Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, mentoring, and counseling, your direct reports.
Responsible for making the right decisions timely to achieve plans for the company in coordination with other departments.
Follows all health and safety standards, GMP s, SOP s and PPE requirements.
Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with ERP.
Perform and supervise timely inventory audits.
Analyze stock inventory and research issues per requests.
Set priorities and give direction based on a daily plan.
Controls labor costs.
Works in collaboration with the operations management team to ensure a best-in-class performance.
Manage both the shipping and receiving functions in multi-warehouse locations.
Qualifications:
5 years of proven work experience as a Warehouse Manager in a manufacturing environment.
Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices.
Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Hands-on experience with warehouse management software and databases.
Leadership skills and ability to manage staff.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills.
B.S. degree in logistics, supply chain management, or business administration preferred.
Strong ERP; MS Excel, Word.
Forklift Operation Certification.
