Horizon Management & Consulting Group works directly with facilities in the mental health industry providing supportive services in accounting, placement and human resources. We are a Clients First organization.
Position Description:
This is a full-time position under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer (or their designate). The Accounting Manager will assist with all the functions of the Accounting Department and its duties for multiple sister companies.
Wages and Status:
This is Monday-Friday, day shift position. This position is exempt.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee and ensure timeliness of the monthly and annual close processes and reporting
- Oversees account receivable and accounts payable systems
- Manages and reviews payroll, employee, and timesheet functions for over 400 employees
- Manages financial audits, budgets, and cost reports
- Oversees client cash accounts, petty cash and internal controls
- Develop and mentor 5-6 direct reports from the accounting team including engaging in training, directing work, assessing performance
- Establish and maintain productive working relationships with sister organizations and community partners.
Experience, Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree and two years’ experience OR Associates degree and 5 years’ experience in Accounting, Finance, or Business Office Management
- A minimum of one-year full time experience or its part time equivalent working in a management role.
- Intermediate experience with Quickbooks, Excel and other Office programs.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, a professional demeanor, and to represent the organization in a positive manner at all times.
- Must be dependable. Is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.
- Excellent multi-tasking abilities, including managing multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines
- A detail-oriented personality that has the ability to learn from and apply experience
- Professional communication skills, interpersonal skills, and natural discretion
Special Requirements:
- Must be able to meet and receive a criminal records clearance, as required by Title XXII, other licensing regulations, and organizational practices.
- This position requires driving. A valid California driver license and an MVR sufficient to obtain and reasonably maintain insurability under agency auto liability policies are essential job requirements. Personal auto insurance and reliable personal vehicle is required.
- Must be able to pass post-offer, pre-employment medical and drug tests as required under State Community Care Licensing regulations and/or Center policies.
- Must be vaccinated for Covid-19 (including booster, if eligible) or have an approved exemption before beginning work

Pay: $31.00 - $35.00 per hour
