Our Tax Accounting and Reporting Team is responsible for maintaining the income tax accounts in the ledger and any tax amounts on our company’s financial statements.  



 



As an intern, you will enhance your knowledge of various federal and state tax laws, the US tax system, and the company’s accounting and filings. You’ll collaborate with other team members and participate in department and company meetings, events, and trainings. You’ll also assist in projects such as tax controls work to ensure we are following our internal controls, preparing draft financial statements, and drafting account reconciliations.


Areas of key focus for you:




  • Prepare monthly tax provision calculations.

  • Assist with income tax account reconciliations.

  • Help maintain the income tax General Ledger.              

  • Help prepare income tax deliverables for financial statements.

  • Support the US Tax audit defense function in analyzing the impact of audit and rate case settlements.

  • Analyze the impact of the new transactions and legislations.



 



For you to maximize your potential as an Intern, we ask you to commit for a minimum term of one and half years.


What You’ll Need


  • Be at least 18 years of age and accumulated 18 or more credits.

  • Enrolled full-time in a degree program.

  • Preferably pursuing a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Accounting and/or Taxation.

  • Can work a maximum of 20 hours a week during the school year.

  • Work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States.

  • Located within a commutable distance to your Brooklyn, NY work location.


Work Structure Overview

You will be working in a hybrid work structure for this internship, meaning in person work is required less than 4 days a week. To be eligible you must be located within a commutable distance to our Brooklyn, NY. More information will be shared about your work structure as we get closer to your start date.

Salary Range



$20.00 - $22.00 an hour (Undergraduate Student)



$28.00 an hour (Graduate Student)



Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
