Job Overview

The Senior Assistant Director of Marketing and Recruitment manages all activities related to the recruitment and marketing of our newly created MS-ESM program in responsibilities that include but are not limited to:
  • Supports all aspects of recruiting outreach including creating the marketing strategy and recruitment plan, liaising with our external marketing firm and internal marketing department, and managing and executing the lead and applicant journey (answering all emails, telephone calls, and walk-in inquiries for the MS-ESM programs).
  • Creates and implements all procedures for recruitment outreach and follow-up with prospects.
  • Ensures that all marketing content materials (both printed and online) are up to date and factually represent MS-ESM program goals.
  • Creates the email communication strategy and writes/sends emails within Marketo, our marketing automation platform
  • Plans recruiting events such as on- and off-campus information sessions, online information sessions and occasionally travels to represent MSB at recruiting fairs, both domestically/internationally
  • Coordinates with the Admissions staff at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS) to ensure that all prospects who initiate an application are efficiently passed on to the GSAS Admissions Staff
  • Updates the tracking reports on recruitment and admissions status
  • Maintains currency in knowledgeable about the MS-ESM and all of MSB offerings in order to best guide prospects during their exploratory journey
  • Works on special projects per the MBA Associate Dean‘s request


Work Interactions

Reporting to the Associate Dean of MBA Admissions and Director of Marketing for the MBA degree programs, the Senior Assistant Director interacts on an on-going basis with prospective and enrolling students by providing information in a professional and persuasive manner.

As well, they interact and coordinate with the Academic Director of GEI and the Admissions Staff at GSAS to ensure efficient flow of recruitment and admissions information and participation in recruitment related events; and manage outside vendors for contracts (e.g., catering, marketing vendors).

They also coordinate with various Georgetown University offices, such as the Office of Financial Aid and the Veterans Affairs office.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 4 to 7 years in professional environment - preference for experience in higher education/admissions environment
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal abilities and a poised, professional demeanor are essential
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in maintaining confidential data
  • Critical ability to multi-task, prioritize and execute
  • Critical eye for detail
  • Ability to build relationships with prospective applicants
  • Experience planning and managing a wide range of events and activities
  • Confidence to take initiative, ask questions and make recommendations with the end goal of process improvement and customer satisfaction
  • Comfort in working directly with executives at all levels and a genuine desire to understand and engage with international cultures


Preferred qualifications
  • Familiarity with a marketing automation tool like Marketo and/or a CRM tool like Salesforce
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of admissions information systems/databases
