Job Description: Nursing Aide
We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Nursing Aides. As a Nursing Aide, you will play a crucial role in providing direct care and support to patients under the supervision of licensed nurses or other healthcare professionals. Responsibilities:
Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and ambulation. Provide assistance with meals, feeding, and hydration, ensuring patients' nutritional needs are met.
Vital Signs Monitoring: Measure and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate, and respiratory rate. Report any significant changes in patients' vital signs or condition to the nursing staff promptly.
Mobility Assistance: Help patients move safely and comfortably, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices as needed. Transfer patients between beds, wheelchairs, and other equipment with care and sensitivity.
Patient Safety: Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, following infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards. Prevent accidents and injuries by identifying and addressing potential hazards promptly.
Comfort and Support: Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, offering reassurance, encouragement, and empathy during their hospitalization or stay in a healthcare facility. Listen to patients' concerns and respond with compassion and understanding.
Documentation: Record observations, care provided, and patient interactions accurately and legibly in patients' medical records or electronic health records (EHR). Document changes in patients' condition, responses to care, and any incidents or accidents.
Assistance with Procedures: Assist licensed nurses or healthcare providers with procedures and treatments, such as wound care, medication administration, specimen collection, and diagnostic tests. Prepare patients and equipment, and provide assistance as directed.
Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team, relaying information, answering questions, and facilitating communication between patients and providers. Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure continuity of care.
Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a state-approved nursing assistant or nursing aide training program preferred.
Certification: Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Nursing Aide (NA) required. CPR certification may be required depending on the healthcare setting.
Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, move, and position patients safely, as well as stand, walk, and bend for extended periods. Physical strength and endurance are essential for performing tasks related to patient care.
Empathy and Compassion: Genuine compassion for patients and a desire to provide personalized, patient-centered care. Ability to empathize with patients' feelings and experiences, and treat them with dignity and respect.
